It seems like an age ago that we visited the Kent and East Sussex Railway at Northiam to do an aerial video of the wonderful steam trains that run through there. When we arrived it felt like we had stepped back into a different age, to a time when rail travel seemed to be a little more elegant than today’s cattle truck experience for poor commuters, of which, I am happily an ex! The steam trains run on time and have a faster average speed than today’s networks. Go figure.
The staff and passengers at Northiam had never seen anything like our equipment before and we fielded a few polite questions but we weren’t sure at the time that they believed us when we told them what we were doing and what we could achieve with our ultra modern equipment and the resulting stunning aerial video we would produce of our time there. Well, today they can finally see what can be achieved and I’m sure they will be mighty impressed with the results with all scepticism blown away.
We had fun making the aerial video of the Kent and East Sussex Railway but it’s not nearly as much fun as going for an actual ride on the train itself. Still a boy at heart
